3 Drills That Make Batting Cage Work More Productive

3 Drills That Make Batting Cage Work More Productive
By guest author: Nick Dixon

Batting cage batting practice is a great way to improve batting skill, bat speed and batter confidence. This article discusses three Hitting Drills That Make Batting Cage Work More Productive. The three drills are the MOVE UP, COUNT ADJUSTMENT and LINE DRIVE CONTEST. These drills are great ways to get maximum benefits from your batting cage workouts. The three drills are:

Move Up Batting Drill

Purpose: Used to improve bat speed, visual concentration, and batter confidence.

Description: The MOVE-UP hitting drill: The batter learns to see and hit the ball quicker out of the machine or batters hand. Before the drill begins, 4 spots are marked on the floor, in measured distances of 40, 35, 30, and 25 feet. The machine or pitcher should maintain a safe medium speed velocity during this drill. The accuracy of your pitching machine must be checked and rechecked during the drill for safety purposes. The spots are the locations at which the batter will take a certain number of swings. The batter hits 4 balls at each spot and then move closer to the machine or pitcher at the next spot.

Procedure: The batter hits 4 to 6 balls at each spot, then moves to the next spot closer to the machine or pitcher. The machine or pitcher should not deliver the next pitcher until the batter assumes a proper stance, triggers or loads to the proper launch position, and has visual focus on the pitcher or machine. The batter starts the drill at 40 feet and hits at all spots until he has hit 4 to 6 balls at each spot, ending with ball hit at the closest spot to the pitcher, 25 feet. Distances can be shortened or made longer to meet the needs of your players.

Coaching Points: Sometimes you may have the player hit two balls at each spots moving toward the machine and then hit two balls at each spot moving away from the machine, until two balls are hit at each location or distance. This process makes the batter adjust to varying changes in pitch speed. This drill is great for teaching batters to stay-back and let the ball in.

Count Adjustment Drill

Purpose: The drill is great for teaching young hitters to make adjustments in their approach at the plate based on the current count. Batters learn to be properly aggressive for the following counts or situations 0-0, 2-0, 0-2, 3-1, runner at 3rd with 1 or less outs, and hit-in-run.

Procedure: In a normal cage hitting, the players would be hitting every pitch in the correct and proper direction based on the pitch location. To change the approach, a coach calls a count such as 2-0. For the next two pitches, the batter will be properly aggressive as he would with that count in a game. Of course in this situation, the batter is looking for a pitch in that perfect spot. If the ball is at that anticipated location, the batter attacks, the ball. If the ball is not in that spot the batter will hold off the pitch and adjust to the new count of 2-1 or 3-0. If the coach calls, Runner at 3rd, the batter is looking for a pitch up to drive deep enough for a score or tag and score. The batter will try to lift the ball and drive a deep fly ball to the outfield. If the coach calls for a Hit-and-Run swing, the batter will execute a hit-and-run approach at the plate and hit the ball in a direction that would be behind the runner.

Line Drive Contest Drill

After a session of batting cage workouts, it is good to end the day with a competitive and fun line-drive hitting contest. An assistant coach will do the pitching. The coach is protected by a L-screen. The player should only swing at great pitches. The contest is to see which player hits the most line-drives in a row. A line-drive is a ball that hits the side walls, back wall, or pitchers L-Screen hard and directly off the batters bat. The hit ball can not touch the top of the cage in front of the pitching protective L-Screen. As long as the batter hits line-drives with each swing, the batter adds one to his score for each line-drive hit. This drill is a good method of teaching batters to perform and hit under pressure.

The Value of Owning Your Own Batting Cage

The Value of Owning Your Own Batting Cage
By guest author: John Peter Pero

I absolutely believe that the #1 backyard training aid that any player could ever hope to have is a batting cage and a pitching machine...even if the pitching machine needs to be budgeted at a later date.

The reason this is so important has to do with how ballplayers are built, how they improve fastest, and where their enjoyment of the game is derived.

If You Can Hit.They Will Find a Place to Play You!

Most players say that hitting is the most fun part of the game.

As coaches, we know that hitting the ball hard and consistent are the best we can hope for from our players.

Hitting the Ball Well Happens When:

First - The player is taught proper hitting mechanics, which is always a work in progress.

Next - Players will repeat these good mechanical swings over and over and over until they become so natural.that success is merely a next step to the next level.

There is no better way for a ballplayer to achieve and repeat these good mechanics and hard swings than having the ability to walk out his own back door to take these swings.

The tremendous number of swings that it takes to commit these mechanics to good muscle memory takes days, weeks and months. Approaching perfection takes much longer. Without this effort, even natural athletes are not nearly as likely to succeed. Every year we see these natural athletes leave the game prematurely!

Space and Money... Money and Space...

The reality is that many families find themselves short of one or both of those items.

That's where we at BaseballTips.com can hopefully help you!

So why don't more players have this invaluable backyard tool?

Until only a few years ago, batting cages were only available as Pro-type cages; the ones you see at High Schools, and league fields. But as the game has grown in popularity and travel ball becomes bigger, some very creative inventors have filled in the gaps.

For those families with limited backyard space and budget please take a look at some of these creative and more inexpensive options that we are now able to offer.

The Portable Batting Cage Kit with L Screen

This cage allows for tremendous flexibility in that it can be purchased in 50, 60 or 70 foot lengths with three choices of net strength that will fit any budget or age player.

Even the shipping charge is reduced due to your needing to purchase the cage legs at a local Home Depot, Lowe's or similar. It is absolutely a simple project, with no cutting or special tools required. Total installation time is 1+ hour right out of the box!

New for 2008

Our Backyard Batting Cage. This creative concept is delivered to you in one box containing a 24 foot section fully complete and ready to go.

The cage sits above the ground, except for a kind of "foot" that is pounded into the ground. a few inches below the dirt level.

Installation is less than 45 minutes the first time you set it up and quicker after that!

The hitter stands inside one end of the cage while the pitching machine is set up outside of the cage at the other end. A small, pre-cut hole allows the pitch to enter the cage while protecting the pitching machine and the coach or practice partner.

Want a 48 or 72 Foot Cage Now or Later?

Two or three of these 24 foot cages can be installed end to end to make a 48 foot or even a 72 foot long cage.

Note:

There is some cutting and fastening together of each section, though the directions are quite clear and the project itself is really not complicated. I do recommend this project be tackled by two people, not one.

And yes, you can purchase additional sections at a later date or as your players grow.

Best Pitching Machines - How To Pick The Right Baseball Or Softball Pitching Machine This Season

Best Pitching Machines - How To Pick The Right Baseball Or Softball Pitching Machine This Season
By guest author: Mike Singh

Pitching machines have so many advantages. You have the opportunity to build upper body strength needed for batting skills, improve your hand-eye coordination and tune your batting technique under the supervision of an instructor or through video feedback. These advantages extend to both baseball and softball. But are all pitching machines are the same? You probably know that this isn't the case. Now, the next question would be - what would a good baseball machine look like? We're glad you asked. Lets discuss some points to keep in mind when you are shopping for the best pitching machines or even just using one.

First, you have to know what age group will be using the machine. If this is for kids or little league players starting out, the speeds of 20 to 40 mph will work best. One thing to keep in mind is that these machines should be accurate and pitch in the same area. In this age group you aren't necessarily looking for variety in pitches and would prefer consistency. Sometimes the younger players want to practice at faster speeds but as a coach you should strongly discourage this. The only exception would be to the case where a player has put in long hours of practice and is very consistent in his hitting at the lower speeds.

Second, pay attention to the quality of the motor and the pitching machine tires. The motor is the most important part of the machine. So, a high quality motor will outlast one of a cheaper variety. Also, the performance of the machine would not degrade as quickly if an excellent motor is used. Get as much information as you can about the motor before you make your purchase.

Besides the motor, the type and quality of tire wheel assembly is also very important. Avoid machines which use a solid rubber tire. When such tires wear out, they can fall apart resulting in an injury. I'm not kidding. To minimize the risk of injuries, replace the tires before they get too old or worn out. Also keep in mind that when you replace some tires, you have to replace the wheel also because the tire is sometimes glued onto the wheel.

Third, for the older players i.e. in middle through high school, the machines with two wheels are a good choice. Players of this age need to get more experience with a variety of different pitches like sliders, curveballs, knuckleballs etc. Machines with a single wheel will only be able to pitch in one fashion at limited speeds. For a multi-purpose machine, look for speeds with a range of 20 to 105 mph. The higher speeds are a nice to have. More than likely you will not need to use the machine at the highest speeds.

Batting Cage Netting - Which Type Is Appropriate For You?

Batting Cage Netting - Which Type Is Appropriate For You?
By guest author: Colin Scott

So you are an avid baseball fan and not such a bad player your self and have decided to invest in a backyard batting cage for you and your family to enjoy. From time to time you will need to do some maintenance on your batting cage netting or you may simply want to buy one to make a batting cage. Whatever the reason, there are a few pointers that you should keep in mind.

The strength of the netting is very important. They come in two types of materials nylon and polyethylene fibers. Both are great for durability and tend to be highly resistant to weather conditions.

The next thing that you should be aware of is the way in which the netting is constructed. The most highly recommended type is the one with square construction. It is more resistant to the wear and tear that it will go through.

Needless to say the color of the netting is of some importance when making your selection. Netting with dazzling colors should be avoided. They are a source of distraction and are not as resistant to the suns rays as the black ones. So play it safe and go with the black ones. It is not about style but practicality.

Of course you need to consider the size of the cage that you are getting the batting cage netting for. The more professional baseball players prefer to use the nylon netting as it has a longer life span. For home use however the polyethylene nets are more appropriate and cost-effective. They provide better protection from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun and are water resistant.

Getting batting cage netting is nor an unduly tedious task. As long as you know how large the cage is you will not have any problems getting what you want. After all there are only two choices with type and it pretty much clear which one is better in which case.

Pitching Machines and Batting Cages: A Baseball Player's Best Friends

Pitching Machines and Batting Cages: A Baseball Player's Best Friends
By guest author: Y. Tilden

As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect. And for baseball players, amateurs or pros, batting cages and pitching machines can be their best friends when it comes to batting practice. Although nothing can replace having a coach by your side, constantly monitoring your batting form, and a live pitcher pitching for you, they won't always be available when you want to practice. A batting cage and pitching machine somehow lessen the dependence on the schedules of other people just to be able to practice. In some ways, these devices also take a bit of pressure off of the batter's shoulders, as machines enable them to practice at their own time, pace and frequency. This gives them enough room to analyze their own form, swing and follow-through.

When practicing outside the baseball field, cages can be considered a necessity when factoring in the safety of other people and property. Practicing in a batting cage frees the batter from worrying about a ball hit hard and landing somewhere unknown and unintended - especially when using regular weight balls, which are pretty solid and heavy. The joy of seeing the flight of a perfectly hit ball will just have to wait, though - but the trade-off is certainly well worth the peace of mind.

The beauty of pitching machines is that they are able to accurately and consistently simulate a live pitch's speed and trajectory. Keep in mind, however, that practicing with pitching machines and batting cages is just a supplement to live pitching practice. More than just the ball's speed and trajectory, it's the human factor and the element of surprise from a live pitcher that a batter has to deal with in an actual game.

Problems From Hitting At Batting Cages

Problems From Hitting At Batting Cages
By Jeffery A Wise

Believe it or now, a lot of baseball players avoid machine fed batting cages. In a recent discussion with a player, he said he was having problems with hitting after going to a batting cage. He's not the only one to experience this.

This particular player said that he hit really well the first round at the batting cages, but then every round following he got progressively worse. He had a hard time hitting the ball correctly or with proper mechanics. He grew tired quickly and couldn't give full effort for each pitch.

There are some important things you should know about batting cages. First, one token gives you approximately 25 balls to hit, with a ball pitched every five seconds or less. So you have about two minutes to finish the round. If you do three or four rounds you'll hit a lot of balls in a very short amount of time.

Because of this, you can get tired very quickly. This is not considered quality hitting practice. The best way to practice hitting is with a live pitcher because it is the most natural. But, if you do decide to visit a batting cage, remember these tips.

•Hit just one round - Focus on quality swings.
•Rest for five to 10 minutes - Stand up, walk around or sit for a while.
•Hit another round - Hit the ball to all fields.
•Don't wear yourself out - This isn't a competition so pace yourself.
•Focus on seeing the ball - These will be fastballs most likely so pick up the ball with your eyes as soon as you can. Get your timing down.
•Practice good mechanics - This is a great opportunity to fix or tweak any mechanics you've been having issues with. Iron those out with batting practice so you're ready to go for the games.

I gave these baseball hitting tips to the player who was struggling. He was encouraged that he wasn't losing his skills and his mechanics weren't slipping. He was just getting tired by hitting so many times in a row.

Some coaches prefer to have their players use the machine fed batting practice as one of their stations during hitting practice. Since you usually rotate to other drills quickly, you won't have to worry about the batting cages having much negative effect. If this is the case for you, hit every other pitch and just focus on hitting the baseball as solidly as you can.

Remember that the reason to practice hitting the baseball is to give you skills and talent to become the baseball player you want to be. Download free hitting videos with tips and instructions you need to get started quickly by visiting Baseball Hitting and learn how to hit the baseball better.

How to Choose Baseball Batting Cages

How to Choose Baseball Batting Cages
By Rileys R

Baseball batting cages are covered and closed cages where baseball lovers practice batting. These cages can be built outdoors or indoors if space permits. They are normally rectangular in shape. Some also come in cube shapes.

There are three commonly used types of cages. The most popular is used for leveled floors. Herewith, everything is manually done. A pitcher throws the ball onto a waiting player. The batter hits the ball at will. The ball is picked once it hits the ground. This is accomplished by either player or a tertiary member of the practicing team.

The second type involves a sloped floor base. The floor is intentionally sloped. This allows the balls to automatically roll back to an oncoming machine. The machine pitches the balls for the batter to hit.

The last cage is completely automated. A machine for pitching the balls is still present. But additional mechanical devices automatically are also used. These picks up the balls and load them to the pitching machine.

Sizes of baseball batting cages vary according to its purpose. In general, average cages are measured at 13 feet in height, 16 feet in width, and 55 feet in length. In terms of usage, length is determined based on usage. These are for different leagues like Pony, Bronco, Little League, Mustang, and Pinto. Secondary, Collegiate, and Pro Baseball Leagues also follow a specified measurement. For the latter group, cage lengths used are often at 60 up to 70 feet. While the former ranges from 38 to 54 feet in length.

Major components of baseball batting cages are stands, frames, screens, and nets. Stands and frames maybe made from iron and steel. These are often galvanized to protect from damage. This can be caused by weather and environmental conditions.

Screens are often L-shaped. Some are also shaped as squares. L-shaped screens are pitcher friendly. Square-shaped ones protect third party personnel which operates pitching machines used. Screens can be connected to frames and stands or can stand alone by themselves. There are portable, handy screens which can be carried around easily.

Nets are knotted in either braided or twisted forms. Twisted types are stronger and more resistant from breaking. Braided or knitted types on the other hand are less abrasive. Nets are often made from nylon or polyurethane. They can be attached permanently or temporarily to the screen.

In choosing baseball batting cages, consider these factors. Determine the type, size, purpose, material used, and location where it is going to be built. Once purchased, the cage can be professionally installed or built through do it yourself instructions.

Rileys has been writing online for several years. Check out his latest interest on baseball batting cages. He has created a website as a dedicated resource for the best product deals for baseball batting cages, visit http://www.homebattingcage.org/ for more information.

A Batting Cages Business requires conviction on the part of the business owner. There is just as much or more work for the person wanting to open the batting facility before the grand opening. Many things must be researched, and obtained.

However, by knowing this you will know that this is definitely the right business.

Once you have this information, you can decide if you really want to go to the next phase, the Batting Cages Business business plan. This will be a requirement for several reasons. You will need a business plan to get financing, decide on the services you will provide at your facility, make sure you have all required paperwork, and ensure that you have not forgotten anything. It will also help you price everything out to open, and help you set a budget for your business.

You can find many documents to help you prepare a Batting Cages Business business plan and financial statement at the Small business administration website. This web site should become your best friend. It can help answer questions regarding business, get you in touch with mentors to help you, help with financing, and make sure that you are on track during the start up process and the future.

Another option is to work with a business consultant to prepare your business plan. However, this can be expensive and may take just as long as you doing it yourself. The sample business plan on the Small Business Administration will help you do the exact same thing as a business consultant. Plus, by doing the footwork on your own, it will give you a sense of the monetary value your venture will entail, and will better help you establish the operating budget.

While creating your business plan, you should consider whether you want to purchase the Batting Cages Business franchise or build one on your own. You will want to research the pros and cons. The advantage of a franchise is that you purchase the name, support, training, and equipment. The only other thing you have to purchase is the location. You also get their marketing and expertise in the industry.

If you decide to build your Batting Cages Business from the ground up, you will be required to purchase the location, and all the equipment. It is not impossible, but you will have to get the name out into the public and build credibility. You will also probably have a time where you are learning about the business through trial and error, which can produce losses of income or customers, depending on how you set your prices.

It is usually a little more expensive to purchase the franchise at the beginning, but the advantages usually outweigh this problem. Depending on your location, it may actually be cheaper to buy a franchise. You need to consider all your options, and doing this while creating your Batting Cages Business business plan. It is also during this time that you will need to decide on a location for your business.

You have made your decision, have a promising location in mind, and you have your business plan completed. You will now need to get financing. You will need to create a proposal explaining the advantages of your Batting Cages Business venture and show your business plan. You can try to get financing through private individuals, banks, or the Small Business Administration. If you don't get financing right away, don't get discouraged. Look over your proposal and business plan, make changes if needed and keep trying. You will eventually get the funding you need.

Once you have financing you can purchase the location, and start building your Batting Cages Business facilities. However, this doesn't mean that you are done. You need to constantly update your business plan, it should be considered a dynamic document. You will also need to subscribe to newsletters, and periodicals, check new books and web sites to keep on top of the industry.

Enjoy your venture and look at the smiling faces of the people coming to your facility to know it was all worth it.

What to Look for in Batting Cage Netting

What to Look for in Batting Cage Netting
By guest author: Jack M Patterson

Batting cage netting is an essential protective gear that allows players to have a safe practice session. It also allows for easy retrieval of pitched balls that are not batted out because everything will just land within the batting cage, especially if the netting is of good quality. However, it is important that you get batting cage netting that is worth your money and is made of strong materials that will not break even when served the fastest pitches.

Good cage netting has to be made of high-density fibers that have high breaking strengths and abrasion resistance so the net is not going to fray even after frequent re-installations. It has to be constructed to perfectly fit the batting cage frame and other accessories to ensure that once the cage is installed, it will be fit for use and it will not cause injury. When the netting is hung on the top frame, it should not sag because it may affect the player's timing. For this, a net with sag-free elimination is more preferable.

Batting cage netting should have corrosion resistant hardware so installation is easy and convenient. Corroded hardware is rough and that will make it hard for players to install the net over the frame. It will also destroy the smoothness of the net and will cause fraying sooner than warranted.

Good netting should also have UV inhibitors to provide UV stabilization and protection against sun damage and intense heat. It should also have added protection and padding in areas that wear first like the ones that straddle the frames, the corners and the midrib.

Resource Box:

SPI Nets is a supplier of batting cage netting and other nets that are used for marine and industrial purposes. Other baseball netting paraphernalia such as baseball barrier nets are also available. All nets are made of 100% High Density Non Corrosive Polyethylene Fibers, a material known for its strength and durability. For more details, log on to SPINets.net or call 956-276-9598.

Perk Up Your Baseball Skills

Perk Up Your Baseball Skills
By guest author: Connor R Sullivan

We live in times where sports have become more than just a game for physical activity. It has reached a professional level which, with the media's intervention, brought an entertaining aspect to it. Now the players are not merely the players, but they have elevated to celebrity level. It is important to note how fame brings along many great responsibilities. Whether it is a league game or any international tournament, winning is the major facet of the sport. After soccer, the most popular types of sports are the bat and ball games. Among them, baseball enjoys the top spot. It is a score oriented game in which the hitter responds to the ball thrown at him. To easily train baseball players, using pitching machines within batting cages can be quite useful.

There are different ways in which a ball could be pitched. Some variations could be added to the pitches such as a curve ball, in which you give a downward spin to the ball, thus making it difficult to play. It is a pitch which has a reduced pace in it. As a result, the batter is caught off guard and responds to this ball in a haphazard manner. A slider is one method of throwing balls. It is like the curve ball; however it is a medium pacer closer to a cutter. The selection of pitch is of critical importance in the game of basketball. The fielding, however further supports the gaming tactics.

There needs to be an adequate co-ordination between the pitcher and the catcher sitting behind the hitter. The catcher signals the pitcher for the type of pitch to throw. If his partner disagrees, he signals for a different one. In other words, the catcher should be aware of the upcoming pitch. The fielding team's placement could be changed according to the employed pitch. If the runner is placed on the third base, the infielders have an option to move closer to the home plate.

Baseball is basically a bat and ball contest between two teams comprising of nine players each. Both the teams take turns to be the defending team and the batting team. The defending team along with their fieldsmen prevents its opponents from scoring runs by trying to grab chances to get the hitters out. Players of the opposing team take turns to hit the ball thrown by the pitcher. As there is a strong need for game tactics from the defending team, there is also a need to have a game plan from the strikers end.

The hitter needs to have a strong arm to tackle any pitch. He has to make a forceful twist and then keep his balance in order to do the hitting and running without sparing seconds. It is of vital importance for the runner to occupy second base and then wait for a suitable hit so that he can make a run for it. This creates a gap between the infields allowing the hitter ample space to position his stroke. The lineup of players is a part of common gaming strategy. The choice of a right handed batsman against a left-handed pitcher and vice versa proves to be successful.

To sum it all up, baseball does not just test your physical endurance but also your mind. Whether you are the pitcher or the hitter, you would always be considering different options in your minds before finally executing them.

Connor Sullivan has recently researched and purchased several pitching machines online from a reputable source. He also ordered several batting cages online from a reputable source to donate to his high school.

Tips For Building Batting Cages

Tips For Building Batting Cages
By guest author: Andy Brock

Backyard batting cages provide a tremendous advantage to baseball hitters of all skill levels. I mean, who wouldn't want to walk out to their back door and take a little batting practice. When deciding to build a cage, there are several things to consider.

The first thing that you want to do is consider how much space you have available in your yard. No matter how much space you have, you can get the most out of any cage with effective hitting drills. Secondly, decide how much money you have to spend. This is really the most important decision as it will drive your planning for which type of frame to use as well as the batting cage net.

Once you have decided how much space you have and settled on your budget, you need to start thinking about what type of frame makes sense for your yard. Frames can be made from galvanized steel pipe, plastic PVC or even treated 4 x 4 posts. Also, keep in mind whether you would like for the structure to be permanent or portable.

Next, think about the batting cage net. Try not to get hung up on how big the cage needs to be. The most important aspect of a net is the gauge not the dimensions. Nets will break down or deteriorate from the effects of the weather and ball abrasion. Think of it this way, the thicker the gauge the longer the net will last. Also, keep in mind the hardware that is needed in order to hang the net which can add up quickly to the overall cost. Parts that may be needed for construction are but not limited to concrete, cables, hooks and clamps.

Another more cost effective option might be to check out batting cage kits that are available from numerous manufacturers and retailers online. There are several to choose from and can provide the biggest bang for you buck. One of the biggest advantages of buying a kit is that many times they are portable and can be taken down in the off season.

Having a batting cage in your backyard is not as a far fetched idea as it once was. Batting cages are more affordable than they ever have been and require less time to assemble. Spend some time planning and you'll enjoy using it for years to come.

This information shows you practical tips for building batting cages. If you have purchased one, learn about ways to maximize your practice time in the batting cage.

Baseball Batting Drills: Batting Cage

Baseball Batting Drills: Batting Cage
By Jeffery A Wise

If you're looking for good baseball batting drills, there are plenty out there. Drills are important because they make players better hitters. You should always participate in hitting drills before you take live batting practice. They will help you with your hitting mechanics before you ever step into the batter's box. While there are many drills, it's good to give detailed attention to one at a time.

Batting drills can literally be practiced anywhere and at any time, including at home, the ball field, batting cages or the park. If you have the right equipment it will be no problem.

In previous articles we have briefly mentioned a drill known as the underhand toss drill. What you will need for this drill are baseballs, protective screens and either a batting cage or protective netting.

For this drill the coach, parent or teammate helping you doesn't have to kneel to the side. Place a protective screen 10 feet or more away from the hitter with the netting approximately a foot away from the hitter. So, if you're in a batting cage, the batter is positioned very close to the back netting.

The pitcher should underhand to toss the ball as level as possible and allow the hitter to take his swings. You should underhand toss the baseball several times each to the outside, inside and down the middle of the plate. As the hitter, practice hitting the ball to the opposite field, center field and right field, depending on where the ball is pitched.

With the batter so close to the back of the netting, it will help him learn how to have a more compact swing. Without a compact swing, he will most likely hit the netting when he swings. Considered one of the best baseball batting drills, it has been proven to help many players with their hitting mechanics.

Remember that the reason to do baseball batting drills is to give you skills and talent to become the baseball player you want to be. Download free hitting videos with tips and instructions you need to get started quickly by visiting Baseball Hitting and learn how to hit the baseball better.
